  Taking Care

Health, Care, Safety and Covid

I am delighted to be offering in person sessions both one to one and in small groups to support you to create optimal health and wellbeing.  However it's also really important that we all know the boundaries, and risks are in attending, so I ask that all attending in person to read and adhere to the following guidelines, so that we all know "what's what" and feel safe and cared for. If you have any concerns or additions to suggest, please do get in touch with me directly.

Working with trauma informed practice, means that it is of paramount importance to me that clients feel safe, supported and well held. If you feel happier working online then this will always be an option.

Please read this information for the care of yourself, and other participants

  • The Healing Space Studio is 100m downhill, at the bottom of my garden so may not be suitable for those with chronic fatigue, including long Covid or disabilities (I can visit you at home if this is the case)

  • Bathroom facilities are currently up at the top in the house, where me and my family live. Once I've cleaned the downstairs bathroom prior to client sessions, the family only use the upstairs bathroom until you've departed after your session.

COVID

Deborah & the Studio:

  • I am unvaccinated, but have had Covid in Aug/Sep 2021. Should I test positive, or have any symptoms, I will cancel sessions and refund all concerned.

  • I ensure that the studio, and all the equipment - mats, blankets, pillow covers - you may use are clean and well aired before you arrive.

  • All mats will be positioned so that clients can maintain 2m distance from each other. However please be aware that  there will always be a degree of risk in attending in person.

  • There will be a maximum of 4 participants plus me at any in person session that is held inside the studio.

  • The studio has both high and low level ventilation, and there is also the option in warmer weather that you work outside on the deck.

  • Although I am open to hugging and touching others, I appreciate this may not be the case for you, so will check in before offering touch interventions or hugs.

Please can you:

  • Not attend if you have a fever, continuous cough or have lost/noticed a change your sense of taste/smell, or have any other illness which you feel may be infectious. You can always attend by Zoom if you feel up to it.

  • Not attend if you have been asked to self-isolate, again you can attend by Zoom.

  • Notify me immediately, should you experience any symptoms that may be Covid related, such as headaches, fatigue, diarrhoea - you may be asked to take a test or attend by Zoom instead.

  • On arrival, either wash or sanitise your hands. There is hand sanitiser available at the studio entrance and soap/handwash in the bathroom.

  • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue, or your elbow.

  • Be aware that other participants may or may not be vaccinated or have had Covid, and that there will always be some degree of risk in attending as some people can have Covid, but present no symptoms even if they are vaccinated.

  • Be mindful that boundaries re touch and hugging have changed for some people, it's better to check first. I am open to hugging any participants, but others may feel differently.

  • You are welcome to take any additional precautions should you wish for your own peace of mind and feelings of safety, such as wearing a mask, but are not required to do so.

  • Let me know if you wish me to wear a mask when I work/speak with you, especially at a distance of less than 2m.

  • Let me know if you do not want touch.

  • Let me know any other requirements you have so that you can feel safe and comfortable in attending in person and do speak up when at the studio, if you need anything or have concerns.

Attending means that you have read the above, and also weighed up the risks for yourself, based on your own health and risk factors and that you take responsibility for any consequences, should you attend.

All of us need to be mindful and should we believe we have Covid either before or after the session, let each other know immediately.
